Project Overview

Produced in collaboration with Acted, this short documentary highlights agricultural resilience and economic empowerment in the Jordan Valley. The film follows a local pepper farmer who, equipped with new tools such as organic fertilizers, water pumps, and soil salinity testers, transitioned to more sustainable and self-reliant farming methods. Furthermore, the video captures his journey of utilizing small business training to establish a food processing venture transforming surplus crops into pickled peppers and molasses during low-market seasons, illustrating a full-circle approach to agricultural sustainability.

Filming in the agricultural landscape of the Jordan Valley requires an adaptable crew capable of managing dynamic outdoor conditions. Our production team employed an authentic documentary style that focused on the tactile elements of farming. We captured rich, sunlit b-roll of the pepper crops, the hands-on soil testing process, and the initial stages of the food processing setup. By pairing vibrant field visuals with crisp, on-location audio of the farmer's personal testimony, we crafted an immersive narrative that honors both the labor and the innovation behind the harvest.
